The Techno Taper is designed to work with standard 2-inch paper drywall tape. However, we strongly recommend CGC paper tape because it offers the most consistent width and uniform roll pressure. These manufacturing tolerances allow the tape to feed smoothly through the tool for reliable, consistent performance.

Some paper tapes may vary slightly in width. If the tape exceeds the standard 2-inch width, it may not feed properly through the Techno Taper and could cause binding or poor performance. For this reason, CGC paper tape is our recommended choice.
